    Proud of Burnley

Well this was a bit of a challenge – a website where everything’s at a 15.5 degree angle (thanks to top colleague Richard Greenwood for that concept).

Liking a challenge and championing CSS 3 I had ‘real’ text and links rotated using css sandpaper which does amazing things, even in Internet Explorer. At the last minute I ended up swapping this for images, as poor old IE, whilst rotating stuff just fine, failed to render the rotated fonts properly. Grrrr.

The Proud of Burnley mini-site helps to promote good things about the town of Burnley, Lancashire and seeks local amabassadors to champion the town.

    Dog to Dot

Like a statue crying out to be released from a block of marble, today’s timesheet demanded to be turned into a sketch. Read on to find out what I made of it.

…and yes, the family pet does have a wonky back leg.

    Mechanics website

Burnley Council runs the Burnley Mechanics Theatre – it’s just next door to the town hall. I designed the website including the mySQL database and php code that power the site.

Running the site off a database means that customers can quickly sort through the performances by date or type of act and staff can update information without having to involve the designer.

The site got a nice overhaul last year – you can read about it here.

    Mechanics Brochure

Burnley Mechanics’ 32 page What’s On brochure comes out twice a year with a print run of about 20,0000.

    I also design the theatre’s website: burnleymechanics.co.uk
