Is it just me or are there just way too many people on the Enterprise? Is it any wonder that Kirk got so fat?

Sometimes I’ll do an illustration just for myself, just for fun. I like to think that self generated projects like this help to keep me sane. Then I look at the result and wonder if it’s too late.

The inspirations for this piece are 1: I’ve got a sore toe 2: I’ve been reading too much Atomic Robo and 3: I love the idea of doing a comic one day about a completely lame super hero power, like having a glow in the dark toe.
I used this illustration as the cover for one of my self-penned albums, here’s a track:

Promotional posters and pull up banners for www.feedbackonline.org.uk. The site aims to bring together local authorities, NHS and county council services. Local people can then make suggestions or feedback via the site and it will get funnelled to the right people.
I produced a series of illustrations for this project, some of which were unused, for instance the crossing the road illustration. Colours and typography followed the existing brand rules.

Here’s a selection of the visuals I did following a team brainstorming session for the world cup drink sensibly campaign. Brainstormingly brilliant team members included: MJ Hindman, Richard Greenwood, Gary Smales and Claire Smyth.
The brief for this project was to encourage sensible drinking during the world cup, rather than run a purely negative campaign about the dangers of drink.
The drawing was done directly into illustrator using a Wacom Cintiq. The visuals were presented to the client and formed the basis for the photographer’s brief. The final two poster designs can be seen here and here.
A couple of the sketches were later used as press ads.
